Thanksgiving and other stuff

Wow, Thanksgiving is AWESOME. I don't remember it much from last year, but this year I had turkey, and stuffing, and mashed potatoes, and peas, and pie, and whipped cream, and then I had it all again the very next day!!! This is some incredible stuff. Why don't we do this EVERY weekend??

We went to Aunt Erin's at UVA, and I went for a walkabout on the Lawn (how that is different from my lawn, I have yet to understand) with Pop-pop. Here's a picture:
We also went to Aunt Kim's and saw all the Wrights and Sebrells. It was a lot of fun - and more Thanksgiving dinner. I have my first really bad cold now, but it isn't bothering me too much. I'm just letting my coughs come out and my nose run. It snowed at home this week too - we got about 4 inches (Mommy says so) but I haven't gone out to play in it yet. Something about getting too cold and it being bad for me. I hope it's still snowy tomorrow so Mommy and Daddy can take me out on the sled???

Halloween

We went to a pumpkin-carving party, and I discovered piles of leaves!

How adorable am I in my Yoda costume? ( I know - TOO adorable).

I learned how to climb into my chair - which was my mommy's chair when she was little (as well as a chair for my aunties and uncle joe!)

the two BIGGEST things I learned...

I learned how to walk...

and I turned ONE!!!

I'm One! And Mommy is a terrible blogger

Excuses, excuses. I can't wait until I'm big enough to post my own messages. It's been soooooo long. Here's pictures of all the things I've been doing since JULY 5 (Mommy, you'd better get better at this!!!)...

I learned how to cook...

I learned how to drive...

I learned how to sleep...anywhere!

I hung out with my cousins (and big brother)...

and I paid attention during Connor's therapy...

But most importantly... (see next posting!)

PASTABILITIES!!!

Earlier this week, Daddy decided to let me play with a cooked piece of linguini. This is the only evidence of the historic meeting of baby and pasta, taken with Mommy's phone camera, which is why the quality of the photos is so bad. (You can also see the UFO and Sasquatch in the background thanks to the AWESOMENESS of the camera.)

my first Fourth!

Here are some photos of me (and Connor, too) from my first Fourth of July!
I have learned to smile for the camera! The pool is yummy!
Connor is yummy!
This is my favorite blanket. Mommy and Daddy call is my wooby. Is that really a word? (p.s. that's me underneath it...)

Nine Months already!

I'm crawling so fast now! I'm also pulling up and trying to walk around things. I have so much fun every day, and sleep like a charm every night. Being a baby is pretty cool. Here are some recent photos of me:
at Daddy's graduation, Granny teaches me to read...

I'm awesome!

I'm doing all kinds of fun stuff now - here's a recent picture of me. The arms are blurry because I was FLAPPING them like a madman!

And here I am as Spiderman...

And here I am napping with Daddy...

My cool brother

I'm so excited about this - my brother Connor (see Chunkin's Blog) is starting to sit independently! So I can learn how to do it by watching him. Everyone's very excited at home about it. I'm also flipping over onto my tummy all the time now. It won't be long before I am crawling...

This photo was last week. Mommy had put me in my crib to play at oh-dark-hundred and when she came back to get me, I had wrestled the bear into submission, flipped over onto my stomach, and fallen asleep on him. Ha - vanquished bear!

Back to back...belly to belly!

Well, recently I was baptized, which has prompted Granny to call me "The Sanctified Dumpling". But even more recently, I decided to stop looking UP at the world all the time, and to start looking AT. Therefore, I proudly announce that I am rolling onto my tummy from my back all the time now! YAY ME!

Here's a picture of me (on said tummy) and my brother Connor. We are getting awfully good at posing together.

Smiling

I can't believe Mommy never posted a smiley photo of me. Here's one. She's such a slacker...

So many new things!

It's been a while but here is a not-even-remotely complete list of all the new things I can do!

1. Last night I sat in what's called Prop Sitting position ALL BY MYSELF for almost 30 seconds! Ms. Megan, Connor's therapist says that should be happening at 6 months but I am only 4.5 months. Check me out. Mommy is going to take a picture tonight, and will post it as soon as she can.

2. I grab my feet! All the time - good thing I can't tickle myself.

3. I will push and pull at items to make the lights go or music play, depending on what toys I am playing with!

4. I have laughed some, although I'm not too much of a laugher yet. I have been very serious since I was born, so it doesn't surprise me.

5. I will roll from side to side on my back, especially when Mommy or Daddy is showing me something that I want to keep seeing!

6. When my Polar Bear is put on my chest, I will wrestle him into submission. Who says Polar Bears are intimidating?

7. And possibly the weirdest thing - when I am crying and Mommy can't pick me up, the one thing that consistently soothes me is Stephen Colbert. Seriously.

I am learning to chew!

So it's become much easier for me to be caught smiling by the camera, but I'm also gnawing all the time on the little toys Mommy or Daddy gives me to play with. Here's an example...

I've also turned into quite the little thumbsucker, too, but no pictures of that yet...

Mommy has ABANDONED me!

Can you believe the nerve of some people? My mommy went back to work and now I can't play with her every day. And just when I was getting really fun to play with. Right now, for example, I am playing in the new gym mat Granny Kate and Pop-pop got for Connor and me, and for the first time I am hitting the button that makes the bird sing over and over. On purpose and everything! It's cool.

I had a good holiday, and I hope you guys did, too. I am getting really big - over 13 pounds already, and I'm only 15 weeks old! I'll sleep, most nights, for about 7 hours, too. Mommy's a big fan of that!

Okay, time to eat, again... Here's a picture from Christmas. My hair is pretty short here, but it seems to be growing out now...
